Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2011: In the Presence

Institute of Contemporary Arts, London
23 November 2011 – 15 January 2012

Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2011: In the Presence features work by 40 emerging artists and gives audiences the opportunity to see a selection of what is going on in up-and-coming artists’ studios throughout the UK. The exhibition will run between November 23 and January 15 at the ICA.

Established in 1949, each year New Contemporaries stages an important annual open-submission exhibition that gives people still at, or just after, art school the opportunity to show their work in the context of a professional art gallery. Each year work is selected by a panel of established artists working internationally. The selection process is completely anonymous. For the 2011 edition of the exhibition the selectors are Pablo Bronstein, Sarah Jones and Michael Raedecker.

Participating artists: Marie Angeletti, Cornelia Baltes, Joshua Bilton, Sarah Brown, Savinder Bual, David Buckley, Leah Capaldi, Alicja Dobrucka, Tomas Downes, Katie Goodwin, Kate Groobey, Noel Hensey, Anna Ilsley, Kim Kielhofner, Minae Kim, Se-jin Kim, Sui Kim, Ute Klein, Hyewon Kwon, Hyun Woo Lee, Ian Marshall, Georgina McNamara, Sophie Neury, Rasmus Nilausen, Nick Nowicki, Marco Palmieri, Selma Parlour, Peles Empire, George Petrou, Yelena Popova, Jessica Sarah Rinland, Anne Kathrin Schuhmann, Dagmar Schurrer, Alison Stolwood, Jonathan Trayte, Poppy Whatmore, David Ben White, Lisa Wilkens, Samuel Williams and Rafal Zawistowski.
